What Nigga Means

How so many choose to forget what the word nigga really means
How this one word represents thousands of our people burned, mutilated, murdered, hung up until their necks were broken on trees
Maybe you choose not to recognize what the word nigga was meant to symbolize
It is a word used to proclaim us as less than, viewed beneath animals in the massa's eyes
See over the centuries you have  been brainwashed to believe you are that nigga  that the slave master, that the family breaker, that the wife raper, that the life taker, massa so callously deemed you to be
So now how about we deprogram our youth and reprogram them with the truth about what mighty people God created us to be
Instead of greeting each other with "What's up my nigga" How about we stand up and prove that we really are bigger than this label that through centuries of mistreatment have
now been engrained as a legitimate name  extremely  embedded in the dark crevices of our brains
Let us begin to address each other as brother and sister
Break free from the mind games designed to pit us against one another Rise up as the kings and queens we were intended to be instead of mentally beaten down submitting to history's past assaults of physical abuse, distorted truths and a verbal litany of a word that still continues today in tragedy
If you believe that it is time to break free and let the world know you will no longer be deceived into believing that it isn't anything less than ok to be addressed as the man or woman God created equally in His image then stand up against the ugly name that carries with it centuries of blood, death, and pain For our ancestors whose skins with whips were slashed and marred let's bury the word nigga and all its lingering scars
And never forget what it meant Never forget

I Will Not Apologize

People get upset when I say that they can't possibly understand what it is like to live with a chronic illness unless you share that illness. They don't always understand that reading about and researching it isn't the same as living it. People don't understand that Narcolepsy and Cataplexy are a part of me and and they dictate, not me, a lot of my responses. I can see how it might be hard to understand that I am not brushing off or ignoring situations because I don't respond the way I should. I get that it is hard to comprehend that my seemingly lack if emotion is a necessity for me to make it through. It is as automatic to me as breathing and it us NOT going to change. Narcolepsy is an awful illness but coupled with Cataplexy, it can be almost unbearable if you don't make some unnatural adjustments. I can't show you what it feels like. A More Humanistic View: Jada Pinkett ith

If you take the celebrity status out of the equation and view it from a more humanistic point, it really becomes less of a punchline. People see an actress trying to sell her book. I see a woman who possibly just wants to be understood. Everyone has made her out to be this bad person without really knowing the full dynamics of their relationship. I think a good portion of it might even be a result of trauma bonding. I know we are tired, but I think Bluecentric gives really good insight and makes some very valid points. I would hope most people bashing Jada would really listen and at least gain maybe just a bit more empathy. I might just be a little too idealistic though.
